I hope you'll update this when the Jimmy Fallon interview airs? Would love to hear your thoughts.

(And "endearing" is the perfect word!) Lovely. :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4044196434896582491.post-86131882554573588132013-05-11T07:56:57.033-04:002013-05-11T07:56:57.033-04:00Dave's style isn't for everyone, but I'...Dave's style isn't for everyone, but I've always liked that, while he can "mix up" names or facts and play the fool, he's a very shrewd man who knows what he's doing. It was Dave being Dave. He's snarky like that. He knows the difference between the two films. Jeez. It was a joke, one that Benedict got. It was the same as the funny clip that he used. I think he is still learning to maneuver the American talk show curcuit. I feel he did well on Letterman and on the Today Show, but what can you do in 90 seconds? I felt he was uneasy at first on Letterman, although he got into the inteview and has a good sense of humor dealing with David's silliness. Ben looked elegant, not many actors style themselves in formal attire. His style sense has improved the last few years, Spenser Hart has worked with him for a polished look. I feel this year he will be grow in his public image and become more accustomed to balancing it all. He has had to learn what to say and what to hold back as he has been burned by past comments, but this is a learning curve for him. He is a classy guy and a superb actor, I hope he keeps himself from getting into the celebrity trapping and keeps his sophistication that we admire in him.Lucindahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14814263859542953795noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4044196434896582491.post-69011060454207920462013-05-10T15:01:52.524-04:002013-05-10T15:01:52.524-04:00No offense, but you sound very much like an over-a...No offense, but you sound very much like an over-analysing fan girl by writing essays on an actor's daily move. I'm sure there's much more important thing in the world to write about other than Cumberbatch's choice of outfit on talk shows, no?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4044196434896582491.post-30719038187971552522013-05-10T14:18:59.500-04:002013-05-10T14:18:59.500-04:00Fascinating to watch the emergence of a star. So ...Fascinating to watch the emergence of a star. So many of us are familiar with Benedict from years of small films, television and theater but so many do not know him and this press tour for Star Trek will be their first introduction. I think he's done an impressive job navigating the muddy waters of American media. My biggest impression from Letterman is he walked out almost an unknown and by the end had Letterman "fangirling" from his few minutes in the chair and the short film clip. That, my friend, is talent. Letterman is known to be snarky and quasi-disinterested during interviews and although I felt he tried (Star Wars? Really Dave? ) he couldn't help but be pulled-into Benedict's good humor, intelligence and confident self-deprication. The Today Show, well....he was on for 90 seconds but I thought he was pure class. I notice he's wearing the same clothes over and over so his PR team may want to increase his wardrobe options while on press tours. Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto have done 8967685747 press junkets and haven't worn the same thing twice. Benedict needs to be at that level now. Looking forward to Fallon tonight, Jimmy always does a fun shtick. Benedict should come across very well. Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
